Default How long does it take you to shave

    Hiya,

Although I've been wet shaving for years, mantics video convinced me to give this a try. DE Shaving. The whole sh-bang. For better of for worse, I went to AOS, and got out fitted there. I'll post a pic later. ( I trust it's the same as attaching a file to an e-mail), right?

So I was wondering, How long does it take you guys to shave and do you use Cartriage Razors or DE?

My first DE shave took around 2 hours. The good news I've got it down to 40 imns.

I told they guys at work about it, the whole process, and they don't get it.

My thanks to all in advance,

    Happy Shaving!

I'm with you Duggo, I take my jolly old time (when I have it) and while I only do 3 passes (approx. 10 minutes) I can spend another 10-15 doing touch ups until I'm absolutely sure I'm BBS (this is a slow, delicate process so that I don't take off all the layers of skin). After that, it's another 10 minutes rinsing, hydrosoling, balming, talcing, then cleaning up. Include the shower, and the whole process takes me 45 minutes to an hour.

A "Normal" (3 pass) shave takes me about 10 mins or so (after I get out of the shower - which takes about 10 mins). Then there is about 5 mins to clean up the bathroom... and another 5 mins or so later to "finish" (T&C if necessary, balm, moisturizer, etc). So, depending upon wht you are counting, a shave takes between 10 and 30 mins.

My shaves tend to take a little olonger too - about 30 minutes - I am still learning the process and technique and havent fallen into a rhythm yet really, So I expect it to significantly speed up as I progress. I spend more time than I feel like I need to so I am still working out the kinks.

For me, it's about 10 minutes for a decent quickie, or 20 minutes for an average shave. Possibly 25-30 minutes on a weekend when I'm playing around with products. I can't imagine standing there for 2 hours

The whole process( shower, shave, brush soak, 3 face passes, 2 head passes, rinsing, balming, alum blocking) when I'm not in a rush 45 minutes to an hour.

If I am in a rush(1 pass only head and face) about 20-30 minutes.

The shave takes as long as I want it to! Some days I'm in a hurry, but other days, when time is not an issue, up to a half hour. Those are straight razor days.

20 minutes or so on average... or two presses of the snooze button in the way I measure time at 7am.

Michael, You usually don't use "product" when you do a 10 min. shave? I'd like to know how to compress a 40 min. process down to 10 mins. Where did you save the 20 mins?

    Product = Preshave, Aftershave, Balm.
    What products do you use?

    Thanks.

I don't usually use pre-shave. I can easily shave in 10 minutes, after a shower. I do use aftershave balm, but really that adds only about 30 seconds. Less, if applied while walking out of the bathroom.

Usually 15 minutes from after shower (or) wash face/hot washcloth to lather to two or three passes. Clean up and apply A/S balm. Up to 30 minutes if I can take my time.

I'd say its about 15-20 minutes for me. That's 3-4 passes. But often I wish it took longer, because I enjoy it so much.
