Thumbs up First DE Shave, Follow Up to my First thread!

Well thank you to everyone who recommended Proraso! I picked up a 5 oz Tube of Proraso from B&BW, a latte mug from Target for $ 3.00, 10 pack of Red Personna's from Walmart *because I was under the impression that my 100 pack of Derby Extras would not be here but they are here still sealed*, a cheap Marvy Eterna Shave Brush *Boar Bristles* because I am still waiting for the C&E BBB to be back in stock *I did place an order for it but they sent me an e-mail that it was out of stock*... After Cleaning and Disinfecting my new to me 1963 Gillette SS, I decided to try the Red Personnas *After Corking the Blade* and shave after a shower tonight.

OMG, I still cannot believe that I was shaving with the Fusion and Barbasol because that simply just blows compared to the DE shave. I did not get the BBS for my first shave but I did get an equal shave that I usually get with my Fusion and one nick on my neck but overall I am glad that I decided to get into the proper way of Wetshaving, since the way I was taught how to shave was just crappy! I did the first pass with the grain and that is where I nicked myself, but going against the grain no cuts or nicks.... I just need to get my technique down but I am hoping 2 passes will be enough.. So far I like the Red Personnas but I am wanting to try the Derby Extras and see how they work out for me!

Thank you to everyone who recommended me what to get in order to get a great experience!

Glad everything worked out for you!

Now its time to start trying new creams... and soaps.. and razors.. and blades.. and aftershaves.. and anything else you can find!

If you're still interested in trying some locally obtainable creams before buying any online you might try the Body shop cream. I haven't tried the new one yet(although I did buy some yesterday) but the old formula was GREAT!
