Thread: What next?

    Default What next?

I've been wet shaving w/ a DE for a few months now and I think I've got the technique down. Every day I do a 3pass (WTG,XTG,ATG) and it's smooth but I'm looking for smoother. I try for BBS every saturday night w/ an extra XTG and buffing as a way to wind down and I'm usually successful. I don't want THAT smooth everyday just more than what I'm getting. B'c I live in south Alabama, blades are not readily available; I bought every brand I could find locally and the Walmart Personas are working best for me. I'd like to stick w/ them and get a new razor.

Now time for the question.....should I get an adjustable or a slant? Right now I'm using a Tech, I believe, and a Weishi.

I have asked for a sampler pack from WCS for Chrismas

    your christmas wish should help,

as far as slant or adjustable it depends what you want out of it a really close shave easily everytime with not much variance get the slant, some days a 3-4 pass on a low setting other days going for bbs with an aggressive setting get an adjustable

I don't buy any blades at the local stores around here at all. I find that they just don't do the job. I purchase all my blades from the net. There are several places that you can purchase good blades at fair prices. There are also places that offer blade sample packs to help you determine which blade works best for you.

As for an adjustable razor. I think it is a great way to find out which type of shave you prefer, weather it's an aggressive or less aggressive shave you are after and one that suits your face.

OK I think an adj will be best first. What are some good ones to be on the look out for?

Gillette slim or fat boy are nice adjustables with a wide range of adjustment, of new one's Merkur has 3 models of those I would recommend either the Progress or a modified progress aka mergress, leesrazors has both for a comparison.
