Default How do you like your bacon?

I was talking in another thread about my breakfast that I look forward to on Sunday mornings. I typically spend some time in the kitchen and cook an actual breakfast as opposed to cereal or something much quicker and easier on a weekday.

    My question is as follows:

How do you like your bacon?

I really like turkey bacon as well as regular bacon. I always like my bacon to be crispy. I can't stand when it's soggy and excessively greasy.

I like turkey bacon best but like regular bacon as well. I do not like my bacon crispy.

Yep. Crispy, non-greasy bacon here as well. As a novelty I really like that thick cut bacon you sometimes get at nicer restaurants or hotels. I can never find it in the grocery stores though, and I have never seen a butcher shop down here.

How thick are we talking here, Shep? I've actually seen some thick cut bacon in one of my groceries and it's pretty good. I think it was Boar's Head. They're like 3/16 of an inch thick before cooked, I believe. Don't know if you're looking for even thicker bacon, but let me know if you are.

I can eat a pound of bacon and come back for more... it's one of my 'stranded on an island and one food' type items.

    LOVE IT!

I hate crunchy bacon. If it isn't chewy, it isn't good, imo.

Not soggy, not crispy... somewhere in between.

Albertson's Deli Bacon will fit the bill Shep. give it a go. You will like it. I think maybe they make it with a little Stinkin monkey meat.

Sue if your ever single let me know, well get hitched....

The bunny does not like crispy bacon for the most part. Chewy is great. and none of the you are going to catch something if you do not cook it crispy stuff.

Chewy bacon is so revolting that it makes me want to throw up. Seriously. It's like eating something on Fear Factor. I need a short, balding man cheering me on to swallow.

It makes me happy that no one has selected 'I don't eat bacon'.

Canadian back bacon, thick & juicy on a fresh kaiser bun with dijon mustard.

When done while camping in the crisp morning air over a camp stove... It just doesn't get any better than this.

Not a bacon eater... I am not vegan, it just has a tendency to make me more prone to having a crabby stomach in the afternoon. I don't like fried eggs either, especially when they have been fried on the same griddle as the bacon. Yeah... breakfast isn't the best meal. However, when I do dare to eat it... crispy and burnt... no soft mushy parts!

Pan-crispy when eaten alone... thick and soggy when atop a cheeseburger.

Oh, well. We have to disagree occasionally, otherwise, one of us would not be needed.

I am surprised nobody has said they prepare their bacon in the oven. I love it. Set the oven to 400 degrees. Place desired number strips of bacon on a broiler pan. Cook for 10 minutes depending upon the degree of crispness you desire (turning and draining are unnecessary.)

    Thumbs up

I had to vote for crispy in a pan because that was the closest I could come to the way I like it. I like mine crispy but I bake it in the oven, it crisps just like in a pan but doesn't curel up.

I also want to try cureing my own bacon soon.
I'm a simple man to please, I simply require the best.

    Who the would microwave bacon?
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!
I've got a cat named Beefeater and a dog named Beefeater, and two goldfish called Beefeater and Beefeater. There's Beefeater my hamster and Beefeater my horse, and my piglet, known as Beefeater of course.

I like my bacon in my stomach.

Before it gets to the stomachical area of baconirvana, I prefer it crispy in a pan or under a broiler. No chewy/soggy bacon. It is an affront to all that is logical, holy, and right.
