    Lightbulb restoration problem

I recently got a 1907 gillette off of eprey.

The threads are stripped on the center post. (barrel threads seem to be OK)

They aren't completely gone, I can still see and feel them with a fingernail but the barrel won't hold on at all. How can I restore these threads?

I was thinking maybe a dip in epoxy and then 'tapping' the epoxy, but hopefully someone will have an easier idea. (ideally one which doesn't require me to buy a set of taps/dies - not that I wouldn't mind having some, but... )

JB weld is actually a good idea because it is cold applied. Just build it up a little at a time, shape and thread....Sound work fine.

just remember to rough up the surface a little bit before applying it ... so it will have something to adhere to ...

once it is hardened, you could even use a thread cutter on it to remake the threads .. (i used it on that head after rebuilding the corner where the peice chipped off, and had no problems at all) ...
