Default Straight Razor Shaving, How To?

I don't know if this should be here, but since it's a How To question, I put it here. If it needs to be moved, I'll gladly do so.

I'm a new "traditional" shaver and I have a DE, which I love, but I'm curious about straight razor shaving. I plan on sticking with my DE for the time being, but I would eventually like to straight razor shave.
This is kinda silly, but how does one shave with a straight razor? I wouldn't know where to begin.
Also what are the pro's and con's of straight razor shaves?

    Thanks
    Tim

Go to www.shavemyface.com and download Chris Moss' straight razor tutorial that's on the home page. Then go hang out at Straight Razor Place In my book, the pros are a potentially better shave and the whole relaxing process. The cons are the additional time it takes and the potential for lots of blood.

Don't worry about a thing. I've been using a straight for years, and my ear is fine.

I forgot to mention, there's a demonstration of straight razor shaving on the B&B DVD which you can buy from this forum.

Lynn Abrams has also just released a professionally produced DVD called "World Of Straight Razor Shaving" which you can order from the link below, I ordered mine last week and while I haven't watched it yet - i'm told it's very good indeed.

Ahh, just grab a blade and start hackin'.....

Just kidding....everyone has given you good advice so far. I'll only say that it isn't nearly as hard as you think it will be. Biggest piece of advice, never move the blade in an end-to-end "slicing" motion while shaving....it will slice. If you push the blade along, it is actually fairly easy and relatively safe.

With an emphasis on the word "relatively."

They don't call DEs safety razors for nothing!

Just read what you can. Get some decent materials and then work on it with patience. The links already given say pretty much everything. I've learned that way and will NEVER go back to cartidge and most likely will never go to the DE since my attempts at DE shaving turned out worse than my straight shaving learning.
