Default How far will the cubs go?

The cubs have lost the first game versus the dodgers.

I'm a Reds fan, living in Cincinnati, and go to GABP (Wrigley South) on a regular basis.

I have mixed emotions about the cubs. I like Derek Lee and I REALLY like sweet Lou. Most of their fans are loyal, classy, and sportsmanlike. But it doesn't take a lot of bad apples to spoil the bunch- the "bad" fans are some of the most obnoxious people I've ever been around. So part of me wants the cubs to go all the way, so the good fans can relax and rejoice, as they certainly deserve it, while the other part of me wants the curse to continue.

So to the good fans- good luck, and go cubs go.

To the bad fans- get ready for the choke. Deal with it. If the shoe fits, wear it.

And to all cubs fans, look out for the Reds in 2010.

    Peace

I bleed Dodger blue. I'm hoping for a sweep. Let the curse continue.

The stats are highly stacked against the Cubs. That said I really hope they find a way to kill the Dodgers. They probably won't make it out of the 2nd round if they do, but beating the Dodgers would just make me smile for days no matter how the Red Sox finish.

If the Cubs win the world series the sheer level of douchebaggery exhibited by their fans (bandwagon and life-long) will make the record levels coming from Boston the last few years seem like nothing. That being said, it's the freaking Cubs. Every few years they get to this point and every time they collapse. This year will be no different.

I can't stand the Cubs. I'd love to see them lose in the first round.

If it can't be the Red Sox, I want the Cubs to win, but I do feel they will choke. Now I don't view the Sox getting past the Angels either, despite today's win.

I think the Phils will take them if they get past the Dodgers. Manny and Torre is not a combo I want to face in October.

They have lost 5 of last 7, they are on a cold streak. Also have never won a playoff series if they lose the first game at home... Which they did last night.

Go Brewers! (I hate the cubs)

Im calling Phils/ White Sox world series.

The Cubs had been one of the best teams in baseball most of the season. However, they were flat at the end of the season and obviously didn't start well against the Dodgers in game 1. Things do not look good for them....

If they could do it in 1908, they can do it in 2008. Kinda symmetrical.

I wish I could say I'm surprised, but it's the Chicago Cubs. They could go 162-0 during the regular season and get swept in the playoffs.

Also, getting swept by a team from the lowly NL West probably adds a little insult to injury.

I've been bleeding Dodger blue my whole life and it's been a long 20 years since my last happy October. I feel bad for the Cubs fans, and much respect to Lou. But how sweet it is!

Love the Pirates, lifelong fan bleeding black and gold. Root for the Red Sox in the playoffs because, well face it, the Pirates haven't been there since '92, and I don't mind the Dodgers.

That being said. CUBS ARE DONE! (I hope)
