superlather vs. soap vs. cream

This morning I did my soap-priming step and within a few seconds had a very rich lather I could have shaved with. Ended up adding the cream and shaving like normal, but I'm now curious. Is a superlather a different consistency than a soap or a cream, or is the point to just combine the soap's slickness with the cream's cushiness?

Is a superlather a different consistency than a soap or a cream, or is the point to just combine the soap's slickness with the cream's cushiness?

Probably has something to do with it. You might also have a product that's performing pretty good, but not quite giving you the results you want. Rather than throwing it out or having it sit on the back shelf, you might add a 2nd product to it improving it's efficacy thereby alowing you to finish off the 1st product.

Or it could just be mixing and matching is so much fun.
