Oh, and let's not forget Shiner Bock and St. Arnold's Summer Pils for the local brews.

I think I have a new favorite from Hobgoblin, saw this in the Supermarket last week so I got 2 bottles

Bloody amazing, plus a 6.5% yummy, does have some intresting notes to it though:

"Fruit cake and Toffee," I tasted the Toffee plus something a tad fruity, not sure on the fruit cake though but there was something else there, I shall e picking this up more often, I like it.

Call me traditional (and Irish), but nothing beats a pint of Guinness.

This could take awhile. There are so many to love! Current favorite all around is Weihenstephaner Korbinian. It is complex and wonderful. Julius Echter Dunkelweisen is a close second. Summer drinking is a toss-up between St. Arnold's Lawnmower (Kolsch), Sam Smith's Lager, and Efes. Spring is always St. Arnold's Spring Bock. Holy cow it's fantastic. And, of course, Autumn is any of several Oktoberfest brews. And of course my own humble homebrew (currently a Steam Beer).

But belgian beers are also good too!

I'm a new beer drinker, so I have only tried a limited number of beers.

(In order that I tried them, as best as I can remember)

    Blue Moon
    Bell's Special Double Cream Stout
    Heineken
    Schlafly's Java Stout
    Newcastle
    Big Sky Moose Drool
    Guinness
    Sam Adam's Cranberry Lambic
    Sam Adam's Boston Ale
    Schlafly's Pale Ale

    Yep... that's it.

My favorite so far (and biggest repeat offender) has definitely been the guinness- from tap or a can poured into glass, not the bottle. The bottle is alright but tastes a lot different than tap or can for some reason.

I also really liked the Boston Ale.

Hobgoblin is great (as is all of Wychwood's stuff).

For american beers, it keeps coming back to Bell's Two Hearted Ale. Its everything an IPA should be.

Not a huge guiness fan, its good occasionally, but usually when I'm in the mood for something dark and roasty, I'm in the mood for a big beer, and guiness is so light.

    Default Boddingtons Pub Ale

I just tried a new beer, Boddingtons Pub Ale. Like Guinness Stout in pint cans, it has the draughtflow system, whereas a pressurized ball of Nitrogen(?) is released upon opening and infuses with the ale as it is poured.

It's amazing to watch the bubbles flow down the inside of the glass as the head begins to form, and man, is it tasty! Smooth and creamy.

Another new beer I've tried is Belgian brewed Stella Artois. Oh my, it's good.

...and I finally tried Red Stripe. Another mighty tasty selection.

I just love beer. My taste varies wildly, and I can enjoy cheap as well as expensive beers. I don't get to enjoy it often, so my selections tend to change about every time I buy any.

That all said, whenever I make it out to SC to visit my son, I always bring back some Yuengling.

Leffe Blonde. It's got a perfect consistency - not watery, not cloying - and that little bit of residual yeastiness that makes it truly Belgian. Second choice - Leffe.
But the 250ml glasses they serve it in are for the birds! Where's the other half??

    Cheers,
    Ian

It's a tossup between Bear Republic's Racer 5 IPA and McMenamin's Terminator Stout. Either is heaven in a glass.

Though I'm no stranger to other beers. I can't get either on tap regularly, so I usually go for Sierra Nevada. It's a fine brew, as well. Am enjoying one at the moment, too!

    Skäl, slainte, prost, and cheers!

Avery IPA is a favorite of mine:

For special occasions, though, it's New Belgium's La Folie:
