Thread: Finally...

    Default Finally...

About a month ago I decided I'd had enough of my neck feeling like I'd been washed with sandpaper and gasoline every few days. There had to be a better way and many men were telling me there was. After a couple of weeks of lurking and reading (devouring) all I could on this board and other websites I ordered a "safe" safety razor (a 1958 Gillette Executive from eBay) and some Derbys (also eBay) and hit Target for some Proraso. I figured this would be a good starter rig and if I found it didn't work for me I would only be out about $30 total. I've certainly paid more for dumber things .

Well the razor came yesterday and the blades were here when I got home today. I'd used the Proraso with a multi-blade earlier in the week and was really pleased with it. Tonight I finally got what I thought didn't exist: a baby's butt shave with zero burn!!!!

I can not believe what I've been putting up with all these years. There's another thread here wondering how many recent converts are going to be sticking around. I can tell you that I can't imagine EVER going back. I feel like I want to ask every man I know if they're wetshaving and spreading the good news!!

All I can say in closing is.....WOW!!....and thank you to all at Badger & Blade who shared knowledge and opinions.

Well my young apprentice, you've finally accpted your destiny and decided to join your fathers in the proper use of light sabers and razors? It is pointless to resist. Give yourself to the light side. Ah well, with all apologies to Darth Vader and the Emperor, welcome aboard. You are also right in your thinking that you won't go back to the ways of the Sith. When you realise that there is a right way and a whole bunch of wrong ways to do something as personal as cut hair from your face, you really just don't feel like doing it the wrong way. One piece of advice. Keep trying new products. Especially shave soaps and aftershave products. A/S products as you'll soon discover are the real holy grail of wetshaving.

    Regards, Todd

It always warms the heart to read how happy a new convert is with the wet shaving experience--brings back memories of my first few shaves.

    Congrats and welcome to B&B!

Welcome and enjoy the lather. Soaps can be addictive and I don't think there is a Betty Ford clinic for this condition. I prefer to call it a condition rather than a disorder. Disorders scream for a cure, while a condition is something we must just live with.
    Relax...Take it easy...Enjoy the lather.

That makes three of us then. Welcome to B&B Seth. Wow, that's an odd feeling; typing my name but referring to someone else.
