Default Words that need to die already...

This is kind of a companion thread to Bob's thread about words that need to make a comeback. Let's here the words you think are done, past their prime, and should die a horrible death.

To get the ball rolling I submit:

    Proactive
    Synergy
    Snap (as in "Oh snap...")

"Bitches" ... as in "Yo bitches, what up?"

"like" ... as in, "Like I was going to the store and like there was like a sale, adn I like bought this shaving cream..."

Yo bitches, you just need to be more dynamic with your next-gen globalization. E-commerce and podcasting are great ways to expand our paradigm shift toward the paperless office infastructure. Anyone afraid to think outside the box is going to find themselves on the wrong side of the digital divide of innovation.

That's all I have to say about it here. I'm off to blog about going forward and streamlining green energy.

I didn't want to go all out and bitchsmatch any consultants we have on the board but I'm entirely behind just about every word in that.

Wholeheartedly agree that synergy must die! To that I would add paradigm, which seems always on the cusp of obsolescence.

Like really dudes, you need to be a little more proactive in putting together your synergy and come up with a new paradigm about slang. I recall when "bad" was good and "tuff" meant nice and special. I just don't get it either. Industry can't manage to run w/o jargon or slogans. What ever happened to leading by example and speaking correct English? Now that would be "awesome dude".

Laugh out out out out out out out out out loud!
    That is, Loooooool!
    Prochoice and prolife.
Ethics for X, where X is any profession. A morally good person follows the same ethical principles no matter what he does.
Similarly. Rights for Y, where y is any group of people or minority. There should be one set of rights valid for all citizens under the heavens and sky.
People should stop using the word Democracy to refer to any State of rights.

    When refering to software
    Folder
    Recycle Bin.
    Briefcase.

Philosophical essays using the phrase "in and of itself" every 2 sentences.
People should be allowed to end a phrase with a preposition.
Though, at the end of sentences. I hate it, but I still use it, though.
    Masticable, seriously…
"That said"... Make up your mind damnt it!!!

Modifiers associated with "unique," e.g. "very unique" or "so unique" or "that's the most unique widget I've ever seen"

"Unique" means "one of a kind". There can be no variation in levels of unique -- either it is, or it ain't. As such, "unique" requires no modifier.

sure. unique, uniquer, uniquest, see.. it works. FF spellcheck, doesn't even object. If you neek up on it carefully, you may even capture it.

I stand corrected, Rich. Here, let me try it out: "That's the uniquest permanent custom title I've ever seen!"

Hey, you're right -- it works!
