  1. Default I love my Merkur Progress!

I've gotten through my third shave on my Merkur Progress and I'm totally in love with it.

The first couple shaves I was going easy on the setting and only put it up to 2. Then I tried it on 3 and it was better. Tonight, I set it to 3.5 with a new crystal blade and wow! Very, very close shave without irritation. I can see how this razor will allow me to get the best out of just about any blade out there.

Along with this I've also been using Tom's of Maine mint shaving cream and I love that too. The stuff is hard a rock in the tube but I found if you plop the tube into some hot water it softens it all right up and makes it easier to lather.

My other trick is using Corn Huskers lotion as a pre-shave to give me some extra protection.

I just can't stop rubbing my face right now, it's wonderful!

Yeah the Progress is a neat little razor. I love mine too, but I can't wait for my 39C Sledgehammer to get here.
I generally open the progress up to 4 or so for the WTG stroke, then move it down to 2 or 3 for XTG then 1 for ATG.
    Works like a charm.

The Progress is great for shaving damn fast but also close and irritation-free. And you can play around with the settings as much as you want.
No offence to the Gillette Slim - which I like because it feels so precise - but with it you have to go with the steps. The Progress is progressive :D
