Default PalmettoB's Entry into the B&B Hall of Fame

Please allow me to introduce myself:

    Username:
    PalmettoB

    What is your real name?
    Blair Hinson

    What are your nicknames/aliases?
    Blair

    Where do you live?
    Upstate South Carolina, USA

What is your age (or) generation?
    39

What are you in the real world?
History Instructor at a tech college and future librarian

What is your favorite shave setup?
Still getting a good kit together, but right now my setup is:

    Merkur Classic Long Handle
Col. Conk Brush (boar, but I'll take the training wheels off soon and get a badger...or two...or three...)
Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave soap
    or Proraso Cream
    Proraso Liquid Cream aftershave

I guess my favorite setup might change when I start filling my "Wishlist."

What are your hobbies and favorite activities?
Here lately, wetshaving! I like being outdoors (camping, hiking, river rafting every so often); I work in my woodshop when I have time (usually making furniture, or last year I made our cats a "cat condo"). I spend more time on the Web than I should, but I also learned to write Web pages (I do 'em for my classes and my church). Oh, and visiting historic places!

What else should the members of B&B know about you?
I love spending time with the family (wife and daughter). I grew up in New Mexico and still love the west, but my whole family is Southern, so my "roots" will always be here! Both of my parents were military, and then my dad was a DA civilian, so we moved around some, but it was great.

    Clemson University alumnus, B.A. '89, M.A. '97

[SIZE="1"]Ah... You can't beat the cold steel and the badger. All this electrical rubbish, little wheels spinning around all over the place for callow youths and peach fluff, Not for a man's beard. Razor blades for men! I think we'll have this on number 9. If you're going to have a shave have a close one!

Hi Blair. I'll offer my WELCOME to B&B too! Getting your shaving kit together can become a life-long pursuit here. First, it's fun and second, it helps mask the collector's obsession!
    Best regards,
    Ron
