US Marines, Basic: MCRD-PISC (2nd Battalion) 2024 Bravo company, MCT: Camp Geiger.....Recieved injuries incompatible with being confirmed fit for combat. (somebody went bang and hit their noggin a little too hard) oh well, what are ya gonna do? My stay was short, but the lessons have lived on.

Australian Army. Enlisted 1966, honourable discharge 1988. Infantry, ranked Private through to Warrant Officer, posted to many units throughout Australia during 22 years service.

Served in Phuoc Tuy Province, Sth Vietnam in 1968 with the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment.

A small but very professional Army, and I am very proud to have served.

Former US Army Medic; Now a USN Corpsman. Ive been Navy for the last eight years, assigned to the Marine Corps. I am in the Reserves now, and I still love the job. Ive been to Iraq, Germany, Ireland, Ukraine, and hopefully will have plenty more adventures before they kick me out for being too old to sail many years from now.

I have made many mistakes in my life. Joining the Navy was not one of them.

Royal Norwegian Air-force 1991-1992. I was in the transport troop. Driving the NOAH (Norwegian adapted hawk) equipment. Unfortunately I was not a part of our team going to Crete for some sharp missile shooting.

Just a reminder folks - After introducing yourselves here remember to click on the Go HERE link in the first post of this thread (or right here) and select "Join Group" for the Veteran or Active Duty group. That will send an alert to the mods to approve your membership and grant you a badge.

And as always - I don't need a holiday to do this: Thank you all for your service folks!
    Cheers, Dave

Well, I just got my DD-214 in the mail today.

Probably time to drop the Active Duty badge and get the Vet badge.

Mad broken time: was in from 2000-2004 as an infantry Marine with 2/8 for Kosovo and Iraq, got out, got (way too much) education, got bored, went back in as a reservist with 1/25 for a stint in Afghanistan. Back out now.
