Differences between Fatboy production years

I created this thread after reading a quote from Thirdeye on this thread:

"[Gillette] changed the inner mechanics in 1960 eliminating on washer. The early model if overtightened would have a shaky feel even if the doors where tight. Basically it was turned past adjustment and the inner shaft then could [move] up and down slightly."

I have recently been looking for a Fatboy razor, and am very interested to know the differences between the years.

Does anyone have a pre-1960 Fatboy and a post-1960 Fatboy to compare the two? Is one "superior" to another in respect to the build quality?

I have one of each and I would say they are equally good shavers, I do like the design that makes it easier to disassemble the razor though.

That's the 1960/1961 design, right?

I don't remember for sure, I think my E is the one I can easily disassemble, but I will have to look again.

I have a 59 and a 60. The only difference I can see is the 59 has a removable nut on the base that makes it easier to disassemble. The 60 is crimped. Both are made very well and shave great.
