How to soften cream up?

My Proraso started out okay, toothpaste-ish in consistency, but after a few days of heat, it's kinda stiff (more akin to a soft cheese)

How do I soften this up? (weird, because my TOBS Rose came out watery after the heat)

Also, when I make lather with this, it seems okay at first, but after a pass or two, the water seems to separate from it in the bowl. How do I fix this?
 
you can let the tube (closed) sit in some hot water for a bit and this should loosen up the cream in the tube. You can also just snurdle it out in a bowl (or on your brush, depending on just how hard it is) and just work it for a bit longer.
