Just a quick question: What's the bristle quality? Pure/Best/what?

Erick, that fistful of lather pretty much sums it all up. I think the guys who worked on this project set up a great product. Nice pic!

I was actually surprised at how much was in there. I'll continue my research as soon as I get some stubble.....

How did the handle feel. Was it slippery at all?

Glad to hear you're enjoying them so far! Just wait until you break the bad boys in - they're lathermonsters.

To answer Tony's question - the handle is "frosted" so it has more grip in any/all conditions than a standard plastic or horn handled shaving brush.

Oh REALLY?!?! A frosted handle you say? Now THAT sounds good! What a wonderful brush. Good job to all responsible!

The brush looks great! I'd like to see some after/post bloom pics.

I think this is going to be my first quality brush.

That was what I was guessing/hoping. I'm looking forward to it.

Can't wait to give it a go!

The brush next to it is the C&E Acca Kappa brush I got last year, retail $105. It looks like the same Finest and knot size, I think the B&B Essential will prove to be denser!

I love the frosted handle and grip pattern, too! Thanks guys!

Can someone post a picture of the "dark side of the essential"?
I've heard rumors about there being writing there :D

Here are some post bloom pics with a C&E BBB for comparison.

    My initial impressions:

I thought I liked the handle from all the pics, but it turns out I REALLY like the handle! It's not how I was thinking. It's a good, heavy, material, but I don't feel like it'd break at all when smacking against my mug. Now when I say heavy, I don't have much to compare it to, since I've been using a wooden-handled Tweezerman. But I do have some plastic handle boar hair brushes, and a whatever-handle EJ Super. The BBE's is the best, by far. I was also impressed with how much heavier the thing got when wet!

With lathering: When I was going around my MB soap to get a lather, it didn't bend or smush or flop much at all. I figured "okay, it's a stiff scritchy brush." I whipped up lather in no time once I took it to my bowl. Then I put it on my face, and that thing feels so nice on your face! Not very scritchy at all!

After my shave, I rinsed it and shook out the remaining water. Then I petted it for a short while.

It lost about two dozen hairs. Probably 15 or so while shaking it out. You could just see them come up higher than the others, and they came out freely. But I think I should have gotten most of them with that run and there shouldn't be many at all left loose in there. (As said before, maybe not in this thread, though, these weren't combed, and this is normal.)

Thanks to everyone who worked to bring this to my shave den!

I was going to get the B&B LE, but I don't know how much better it could be. Might have to get it just to satisfy my curiosity!

I know my Tweezerman will be getting a well-deserved rest now.
