    Default Cravings?

Does anyone else get terribly strong food cravings? My normal on is ice cream and tonight it is so bad I had to tell Chip to keep driving. I still tried to convince him he wanted some too on the way home so he would stop. The only real thing that stopped me was the fact I was so full of home made Mediterranean and bbq chicken pizza.

When it come to ice cream it normally can't have fruit in it. For me it ruins the experience unless it is combined with chocolate. A great many of things are good with chocolate!

Ice Cream for my wife too. I am really into Lay's Sea Salt and Vinegar Kettle-Cooked Chips! YUM!

I will eat them on the way into my triple bypass.

Hmm... I suppose that occasionally I will have slight cravings for a modest helping of a certain 5-holed, steam-grilled, oniony, beefy, mouth-watering, colon-destroying SLYDERS!!!! OH MY GOD I MUST HAVE 30 RIGHT NOW!!!!

Some cravings are indicators of nutritional deficiencies (crunching on ice habitually, and eating dirt--"geophagy"--are both indicators of iron deficiencies, IIRC), but ice cream...well, I dunno; are you getting enough calcium?

I think that sometimes, some foods are "just right", it's true, but I'm not a big sweets person. Though, I'm pretty sure that tater tots would be my ticket to a bypass surgery if I didn't only eat them (or french fries) once a week. Yikes.

Are you sure you don't crave limes, Mrs. Chip?

I have noticed over time that mosts men crave salt and women crave sweets but my father loves sweets and mom loves salt. lol

I used to chew on ice all the time, had to stop cause of my teeth. I think I'll have to assume I don't get enough calcium. Then that means I can have all the ice cream I want. Great justification.
...now to find the justification for all that chocolate sauce.

...And others are indicators of pregnancy.

Now I have a craving for ice cream. I hope my wife's not pregnant and I hope the kids get married first.

    Chocolate contains antioxidants.

Oh and I have a Doritos problem. I have to stay strong every time I pass the chip aisle at the supermarket.

They must make a chocolate sauce with calcium in it. Either that or chocolate sauce makes the calcium supplement taste better. Yeah, that's it...

Darn! I am out of chocolate sauce. I'll have to eat my ice cream plain.

We get those about once a month at work. Several crave cases worth of delicious, delectable sliders. But the after effects... Beyond the capability of mere words to describe.

My mama always retained her ice cream appetite, which was the only thing she found cruel about being diabetic.

I get seasonal ones. The current (summer) ones: I can't get enough watermelon. Other than watermelon, everything must have hot sauce right now, and I'd prefer Mexican food 3 meals a day.

I get intense cravings for extra rare filet mignon, beef carpaccio, and raw tuna.

Edit: Looking at my list, I think I might be a vampire.

I crave crispy barbacoa tacos with roasted chili corn salsa, sour cream, cheese, and lettuce from Chipotle (accept no substitutes!) all day, every day. No joke.

That is a devastating craving, my friend.

I can think of more than a few occasions where my good friend and I would just leave Worcester well past 11pm and head to 8th ave in NYC to hit up White Castle.

Night before finals -- what better place to study than the road to/from White Castle?

mmmm, that would work for me too. The chocolate in the trail mix is what does it. But think of the possibilities for ice cream.... add caramel, cookie crumbs, hot chocolate powder...it is endless.

If I could have real food, 'healthy' food cravings it wouldn't be so bad. Like Chip yesterday. He was able to get Angus NY strip and rib eye with no second looks. It is part of a regular meal...it's own food group. I tried to convince him that ice cream is the main item in the dairy group.

I can't help but think I'm missing out some how by only knowing that a White Castle exists...

    ohhhh white castle jalapeno cheeseburgers...

my REAL craving though is wings. Every so often i just HAVE to have good wings. if i have crappy wings, we have to go out again shortly thereafter.

Oh, and scotch. Once in a while, I get that craving to drink peat moss... and the best way to do that is with a good single malt. :)

I usually can go for years without this craving hitting, but I can't just have one OREO cookie.
