Merkeur straight vs open tooth comb

Is there any real difference between a straight bar and an open toothed comb as fas as how close they shave?

totally different beasts.

in my experience, they both require strange angles to acheive good shaves.

I've experienced this more so with the open comb.

Plus, I find the first pass to be less effective with the open comb. Of course, I'm not using a spacer or anything like that.
