    Default Open comb razors?

    what is the deal with open comb razors? are they more agressive? What are the pros and cons?

    They are not necessarily more aggressive than the closed bars. The curvature of the head has more to do with aggressiveness. The advantage of open combs is that they do not clog as bad as the closed bars ... easier to rinse or clear the whiskers. The negative is that the combs are exposed to more damage if dropped than a closed bar. When purchasing an open comb look at the alignment of the comb teeth to assure they are undamaged. I used a 1936 New I found recently a couple of days ago and found it to be a very smooth (unaggressive) shave. It is on the left below.

    Open-combs are also good if you have a few days' growth to shave off.

    Are they good for head shaving?
