  1. Talking Announcing the B&B Limited Edition 2008....

Introducing the B&B Limited Edition 2008...

Pictures, Information, Ordering instructions - all the info you'd want to know about the B&B 2008....

After a long - LONG wait, here she is fellas, the B&B 2008 Limited. It will be a completely bespoke brush handmade by Kent of London, it will feature their most luxuriously sourced SilverTipped hair, and it will be triple dense/stuffed. The knot diameter will be similar to that of a BK4 (but better hair and triple stuffed) with a shorter loft - making it the typical ultra-luxurious Kent, however unlike any luxurious kent - will sport a hefty dose of backbone from the lowered loft and super dense knot. Think of this as a much more luxurious, better looking, and more ergonomic chubby. (Note: pics with the blue background are ALL post-bloom)

The production versions will have the full kent regalia (beautiful logo, and gorgeous red presentation box/tube) and be marked "Badger & Blade" with "Limited Edition 2008" underneath it. This brush is absolutely gorgeous, and is perhaps the most striking brush I've experienced, in terms of its appearance, feel, balance, and presence. It also doesn't hurt that it's the most luxurious brush i've ever experienced to boot. This is to brushes, what the Rolls Royce Phantom is to cars.

Specs: 57mm handle, 45mm loft, about a 20.5mm super dense knot of first quality silvertip (very soft, with a creamy white tip).

    Pre-Bloom Photos...

(Again, remember the pics above/below with the blue background are ALL post-bloom)

Notice the base of the knot - SUPER beefy, and stuffed full of hair...

Looks like a Simpson Chubby knot, eh?

    Comparison Pics...

    Simpson Chubby 2 Super & B&B LE 2008

The bigger knot of the chubby 2 is still denser.... but not by much....

    B&B LE 2006 & B&B LE 2008

Notice the tremendous size difference - especially the loft....

Wildly denser and more compact head on the 2008 (Read: no flop)....

    2 band Simpson Tulip 2 Super & B&B LE 2008

This particular Simpson has a SUPER thick 2 band hair, so it doesn't splay at all, so it appears denser, however they're pretty equal - if anything the B&B is a little denser....

    Plisson European White #12 & B&B LE 2008

Much denser, with a more compact head than the Plisson...

    Order Info - READ CAREFULLY!

Like the B&B Limited 2006, the order period will be limited. Brushes will be pre-ordered and pre-paid starting today for about one month (no limit on the number of brushes you buy). After the pre-order period, the run will be closed (NOTE: AFTER THE TIME BOXED PRE-ORDER PERIOD, YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO PURCHASE/ORDER THE BRUSH - NO EXCEPTIONS!) and the brushes will go into handmade production. We expect them to be in your hot little hands approximately 2 months from now.

The specifics - unfortunately (for Nick and I) due to the absurdly low pricing, the manufacturer will not ship/handle the brushes or payment, which mean (sigh) we have to. This also means - you will be placing the pre-orders with Nick and I, we will receive the shipment, then break it up and ship them out to you. If you are not comfortable with this arrangement, we ask that you do not purchase a brush. If you wish to purchase a brush - please read the instructions below VERY carefully. Improperly placed orders can/will be cancelled and refunded without notice and may result in you not receiving a brush.

    Payment/Order Info:
(Note: read ALL of the information below before placing your order)

The cost of each brush is $140 (Which factors in the bulk shipping to us, paypal fees, etc) and since we have to front the money for the order - once your order is placed, it is not refundable however if something goes awry and we can't get the brushes, etc - you will receive a refund. Shipping will be a flat $10 for members in the U.S. - and will be calculated on an individual basis for those in other countries, based on our cost.

Note: You will have to create an "account" in the shopping cart system to checkout. Make sure to put your correct shipping information in your "account" as that will be the address it will be shipped to.

The only means of payment right now are paypal. It is unlikely we'll accept other methods, however if you are a "special case" please contact us and we'll try to work something out with a money order or the like.

To order a brush if you are a resident of California - create a gift certificate to/from yourself for $162.38 (The brush, shipping and tax) HERE making sure to put "B&B Limited 2008" and the date which you placed the order in the "Message" section.

To order a brush if you are in the USA in any state BUT CA - create a gift certificate to/from yourself for $150.00 (The brush and shipping) HERE making sure to put "B&B Limited 2008" and the date which you placed the order in the "Message" section.

To order a brush if you reside outside of the U.S.A. - create a gift certificate to/from yourself for $140.00 (The price of the brush) HERE making sure to put "B&B Limited 2008" and the date which you placed the order and the country in which you reside in the "Message" section. Prior to shipping the brushes, we will contact you with the shipment cost to your shipping address. Note: We have to put the value of the shipment on the customs forms - this is non-negotiable.

Special Note: This is NOT the B&B Essential shaving brush - pics/info comparing the two can be found HERE.

    Alright fellas.... let 'er rip!

    Joel,

Thanks for the info. I have two questions. How will these be shipped? UPS or USPS? It makes a difference if you have a PO Box.

Second. How can we handle this if we do not know where we are going to be in two months? Long story short, I am homeless in a little over a month.

    Thanks,
    Jonathan

    The brush is fantastic!

Wow $140 is quite a bit higher than the $50 originally planned. I've been out of the loop for a while for this thing though maybe the plans changed somewhere along the line that I didn't take note of.

edit: oops I got this confused with the essential, I just noticed the note at the bottom of the post.

Is there a hard date yet for when ordering closes?

Also, am I correct in understanding that they are going to be made to order, and there is no pre-set number of brushes to be produced? So I don't have to worry about putting in my order at this very second.

This one is out of my price range, so I ordered it anyway.

Does this mean B&B is actually a business? It's not just Kent selling to the US and Joel divvying up the brushes? I don't know how tax laws work.

Did Baloosh confuse you, or did you change your mind about the loft height?

I don't know either, but it adds $12.38 to the price

Yeah, I don't see how that $12.38 would reach the government otherwise. Heck, it'd probably be cheaper to have it shipped to a relative in another state and have that relative ship it to you.

RE-READ the post above carefully - you AREN'T buying the brush from Kent.

Kent will not sell the brushes direct at this price.... we can set it up so they do, and it'll be a hell of a lot less work for us (hell, no work) but you're looking at higher shipping rates (individual brush from UK to you), and paying over $300 for the brush. We can work something out so you purchase yours like this We're putting in a Herculean amount of effort into setting this up, and will likely have to pack/ship 500+ items - so the berry busting isn't well appreciated.

As stated in the post, if you aren't comfortable with this (and by all means, that's ok with us) please do NOT purchase the brush.
