Help a guy identify a razor . Possible Gillette Double Ring

I think you all know the feeling. You find a razor and you go "Is that a ...... Noooo ...... can't be, well could be." That's the case with this razor, and no I didn't polish it .... haven't gotten it yet. If it's not, that's ok, I've spent more for a cheap breakfast with my wife. So help me out if you can; I know there's plenty of knowledgeable guys and gals here.

Head is too flat, afraid it's not a Gillette.

Yours is close, but not quite the whole enchilada.

On the plus side, it looks in great condition, is probably almost as old and I'd be willing to bet it shaves great!

I didn't have to look twice, but it's still a cool razor, I would have gotten it if the price was right.

Bummer it's not a vintage Gillette. I didn't see any markings. Perhaps it's an old Merkur?

Head looks like brass, bent teeth and all. Did Merkur ever use anything other than zinc alloy?

I agree. That's a cool razor, and it sounds like OP bought it right.

Of course they used brass and still do on open combs.

Sorry I forgot to get back to this posting. I'll try to identify it when it arrives; worst comes to worst, I'll sell or trade it for something I've been looking for. If nothing else it'll be good trade razor.

If you were unscrupulous you could sell it on ebay under Rare Double Ring FatBoy Slim. L@@K!

Fortunately all us BBers are all scrupled up

Not a DR, but cool looking and worth a few test shaves for sure.
