I was perusing over mantic59's videos again and came across a little bit of info that's helping me out big time.
Corn Huskers Lotion used as a pre-shave. I smeared a bit of this all over my face before I started shaving and right after a shower and it helped out tremendously. It's not your typical oily lotion so it absorbs into the skin quickly and gets the job done.
I just tried out my Merkur HD slant a few days ago with average results so I went back to my regular Merkur HD. I was really looking for some extra moisturizing on the shave and this fit the bill.
I suppose I'm not sure how the slant is supposed to be used and I'm finding I get better results with my regular Merkur at the moment. This may change as I learn more and get a better technique down.
