Cheap Fleabay Soaps

That one, no; but I've had some luck with small-shop soaps off the bay.

"Lisa's Natural Herbal Creations" (Peppermint) is one of the best, period; holds its own with anyone. French green clay for slickness and other great ingredients. Used it today; Christmassy peppermint.

"Downeast Soaps" from Maine is another small-soap goody.

Avoid Joshua Tree. Olive oil lather-free disaster.

Downeast is $8 shipped for a 4oz puck, I'd stick to Stirling at that price...
Lisa's is defunct on the Bay apparently...

Downeast shaving soap is not bad at all. I do wish that they would list the ingredients that goes into thier soap. I have a feeling that it's just a melt and pour with priporitory scents.

For $3 more I can get Stirling shipped, 5.8oz jar on Ebay

Very true! Stirling is a nice soap as well. And to put things into perspective price wise ounce for ounce, for the cost of a $15 4oz to 6oz soap of some of the more popular brands, some of which I own and enjoy, I can make 32oz of shaving soap for personal use with just as good if not better results.
But for most, it's not about the cost, it's about experiencing new and different types of soap. Of course person preference does play a role as well.

The "Lisa" soaps remind me of Sudsy Soapery's. I try to look at the ingredient list more than anything.

At what, $8 delivered, I think they're a deal.

There are a lot of small soap makers out there now that get it right. And some large ones that don't!

Not so, though you just scared me into buying another soap ... Lisa's Lavender.
Glad you looked!

I just had my 2nd shave with her sandalwood and patchouli soap, I'm pleasantly surprised so far! Definitely want a larger sample size but it lathers easily and leaves a nice face-feel.

I cut my puck in half so if someone wants the other half that I didn't use I'm happy to send to you if you want to try it out before contemplating an order.

Actually, yeah- I just saw the sandalwood. Don't want to post a direct link, but click on that merchant link, click on "items for sale," scroll down ...

The Lavender came yesterday, but the Peppermint is just rocking this Christmas shave thing ... For one, I really like the Lisa's soaps.

edit: If direct links are ok, here's the Tobacco and Bay:

I suppose I should have used the condition of 'cheap' as part of the allure. Sterling is cheaper than this soap, I get 5.8oz of Sterling for $11 a tub, ($1.89 per oz) vs this stuff at $2.23 per oz. Don't feel like paying more for unknown brands, even if the difference is only pennies.....

Yeah I mainly bought it because she did a free shipping promo for Black Friday or Cyber Monday, so I grabbed a shave soap and half a shampoo bar for $7 shipped.
This is the link to the Lisa's shaving soap page on their website if the ebay links aren't working and you want to check out any info on their products
