I've been lurking here for a couple months now, been using a DE for about 2 months altogether, I'm getting the hang of it for the most part. Also, can anyone tell me of any decent shave shops in the Jackson, Michigan area? I can't imagine there are too many, since Jackson's kinda a crap town, I just want to try my luck before I have to drive out to Lansing or Ann Arbor.

Welcome! Sorry I can't help you locate a shop. I am pretty sure most of us have to do most of our shopping on the internet. Good luck!

    Welcome Mura!

I can't say for sure if there are any sources near you, but if you check my blog I have a set of links about 2/3rds down the page on the right labeled "Bricks and Mortar Product Locators" that might help. Good luck!

Welcome Mura! What kind of stuff are you currently using to shave with? If you can't find anything locally the Internet will be your friend. Another thing to think about is that there are some great products available nationwide at drug store chains like CVS, Walgreen's, Target, WalMart, etc. Joel's excellent article on this topic graces the front page. For soaps look at Williams or Van Der Hagen.
    Cheers, Dave

Already read your blog, your videos are more or less the reason I got into wetshaving. I already use some decent stuff, I have 3 different tubes of Crabtree & Evelyn shaving cream and 2 pucks of Colonel Conk soap. I'm using a DE razor sampler pack, tried everything so far, big fan of Derbys and Feathers. I'm just trying to find different places to go in person, as much as I like internet shopping, I've always felt the experience of physically going to a store and picking things out is better. I'm one of those people that likes to hunt the products they shop for, it makes it feel more rewarding to finally find it.

    Welcome to B&B.

I think most guys order their stuff as there are not that many places to buy locally. I am near Petoskey and just went up to Sault Ste. Marie the weekend before last and was able to score some stuff there. You can read about it in this thread. There is a lot of bantering but eventually I posted some pictures in one of the posts so you can see what you can get on a short trip up to the Soo.

However, with gas prices the way they are, you are probably better off just ordering your stuff. You can also check Crabtree & Evelyn online for their store locater to see if they have one near you.
    Relax...Take it easy...Enjoy the lather.

Heh, Sault Ste. Marie is pretty far from me, It'd be faster for me just to drive to Toronto, and that's probably including the amount of time I'd have to wait in customs. I've looked in C&E's business locator, nearest places are all in suburbs of Detroit, other sellers of their products happen to be one of my favorite bookstores in Lansing, which is odd, since I've never seen anything shaving related in there, and I've covered every square inch of that place. Either way, I think I might be stuck ordering online until I move out to Ypsilanti, which in itself isn't very interesting, but it puts me pretty close to Ann Arbor, which is pretty much the best Michigan has to offer as far as cities go.
