Cleaning horn?

I have a new project razor. It's a 7/8 W&B wedge. It's got dark horn scales. It's not bad looking but the horn is a little faded or tarnished. I'm going to wipe it off with soap and water of course. I had some lemon oil furniture polish that I could wipe and and off.

Is there anything else that is commonly done to restore the finish/color a bit?

This is just me, but I would do some light sanding with 12 and 2K grit to help bring them back to original a little more. Other than that if the scales are still functional and the pins are good, I would just enjoy them as are.

Sand to desired polish, and soak in neatsfoot oil for couple of days. Should be like new.

Note to self...don't buy straights to restore that have massive pitting on the sides. I thought the razor was worth it as it was a 7/8 W&B wedge for $35. The scales are looking fine but sanding this pitting is going to take awhile! I've worked on it for hours already.
