    Default First Vintage Straights

I have been using a DE and decided to take the straight plunge. I bought a shave ready Dovo and wanted to pick up a couple vintage blades to practice honing and stropping. I found these and and picked them up fo 15.00 total. I was hoping the straight experts could tell me if I made a decent purchase.

I'm looking at the second razor, the "Solinger Facharbeit", just below where the shank joins the blade. Is that a crack or a scratch?

Apart from that one questionable mark both look good. I think you did well.

    Best Regards

    Graham

Thanks Graham, It is a scratch that looks worse in the picture.

Wow, that's a very nice Solinger Facharbeit. I'll bet it shaves mighty fine once it's ready to go.....

They look like they will clean up nicely. Be careful with polish on the second, would want to polish the etching and washes off.
