Hanging Hair Test

Exactly how is this done? Is the hair hanging between the thumb and forefinger of one hand, with nothing holding it on the bottom? If so, a razor should cut the hair that hangs free, and it will not simply be pushed out of the way? Or is the hair somehow under tension at both ends?

Ben, This is done with no tention on the hair. Hold the piece of hair between your thumb and forefinger. Hold the blade edge up and drape the hair over the blade passing in in a downward motion (weight of the hair only). The hair should shave right in half clean.
