What's new

Quietly harvested my deer two weeks ago

So I was fortunate enough to draw a buck tag for the Columbia Basin (NE Oregon), and Oregon allows hunting with a legal suppressor.

That said I had a gunsmith friend of mine take the barrel off my Bushmaster Varminter (24 inch stainless steel heavy barrel) and thread the barrel to accept my quick disconnect for the suppressor.

I am running a Yankee Hill Machine 5.56 QD (quick disconnect) can and have enough of the quick disconnects to be able to mount it on all of my ARs.

My harvest was a 3x3 Mule Deer buck that ended up at 85 pounds hanging weight (average for this area).

My rounds were Privi-Partisan 75 grain JBTHP. Put two shots to his liver/lungs walked up and put one behind his ear.

So far the liver (what was harvestable), and heart have been delicious.

If your state allows ownership of suppressors I highly recommend getting one as they put a big smile on one's face.
