    Default My B&B FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Today marks one year as a member of the B&B community. All kidding aside, this has been, and will continue to be, one of the best groups OF ANY KIND I have belonged to! Thank all of you (especially the mods and the powers-that-be) for making this the great experience that it is.

Each day, for 365 days, I've learned something new about a "craft" I've been working on for over 35 years. Each day I've "LMAO" over something funny one of you has said; or I've watched with suspense, as we see the unfolding of Antique Hoosier's first date, or the tense reports from the Canadian border where one of our members was "detained" for two bottles of green Aqua Velva and some Wilkies.

I've made some friends here that I've never met, but who will send a couple of old blades to, in order that I might slice the hell out of my face-- and you know what? I LIKED IT!

I've tangled with a few of you, and diagreed sharply at times, but I think we've mostly kept it at a gentlemanly level, and, as the saying goes, "iron sharpens iron"...these disagreements are slight as long as we agree on the basics...like "Cartridge Systems and Chicken Sh*t have the same initials."

In short-- this is, by far, the most worthwhile and consitstently uplifting and positive internet use I've ever come in contact with-- talk about your "social networking"...and I have even met a few of you face to face, and you're damn good shavers!

Just wanted to say thanks...and raise a glass to all of you, my B&B friends and fellow wet shavers. (Except for you, Zeni...you suck!)

Congratulations Mr. Gillette. You have been a true asset to this community with your excellent knowledge base and quick wit. It has been a pleasure reading along. Currently your efforts and fine style have been a welcomed addition to our little vintage blade experiment.
    Thanks for being here.

I've made no secret of my admiration for your wit and prose over the short time I've been here. Similarly, I'm impressed at your shaving knowledge and intuition. I am glad to know you, at least in cyberspace, and share a planet with you, good sir.

I just missed my one year anniversary, but I agree with everything you said. This place is great. How long until B&B becomes a lodge to go hang out at? I'd move to be near it.

One year, and yet only 1 month I have shared with you. I feel ripped off. Congrats.

OH THERE you are...you think, after all we've been through, that you can miss my anniversary and come crawling back the next day, pretending you remembered? Sleep on the couch tonight!

this place rocks ... otherwise, why would I (and the rest of you fellas) be here long after learning the 1-2-3 of getting a decent shave!

Oh, and Zeni, just think of yourself as a top-notch vacuum cleaner!
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!

But but but Baby. Please. I remembered but there was an accident on the highway, and they closed the road, then I ran out of gas. The store I went to was out of flowers and chocolate too. Then by the time I went to another store they were closed.

    Ah Please forgive me.

    Mr. G,

From my perpetual ex-lurker standpoint, I nominate you "best oldbie". Seriously though, you are one of the most entertaining and informative posters in this forum. Ok, i've said too much, back to the lurking.
