There's a bar/restaurant here in Atlanta that has Guinness Ice Cream on their menu and it's fantastic.

We recently bought a Donvier Ice Cream maker, which is a fantastic machine and doesn't use salt & ice... Anyway, we've been experimenting with ice cream recipes. I did make a really nice Guinness ice cream, but the recipe wasn't as rich as the one above. I think I'll have to give this one a try.

I tried beer ice cream at a place callled Medvidku in Prague and it was delicious. Have yet to see anywhere in Ireland north or south of the border serving Guinness ice cream.

Would whiskey be a flavour to try I wonder?

Whiskey would make a great compliment to a vanilla base I'd imagine. You just have to add it right before the ice cream is done or it won't freeze. Unless you want to cook it in, which wouldn't be as exciting.
