OCtober 24th (22nd Shave)

If I may... finally got some different OC razors... This one I found at the flea market yesterday. Cleaned up well and has some nice brassing coming through. What I wasn't ready for is how much you feel the blade. Haven't used my SE's in a while. Need some practice on this one. Good but a little rough shave (need to find the angle).

Razor: Ever-Ready OC
Blade: Ted Pella PTFE (6)
Brush: Stirling 26mm Finest Badger
Soap: Stirling Gentlemen
AS: Witchhazel / SkinBracer / Balea ASB

If anybody could help getting more information on this razor... I'd really appreciate it. It says on the rear side: Patented March 24/14 Made in USA and inside: American Safety Razor Co. Inc. New York.

Hope I can just jump in again
Welcome back, Lots of guys jump in and out of OCtober. No real hard rules, just to try to use OCs and have fun. :thumbup1:
It's a '14, fairly aggressive razor they say, I wouldn't know, mine is still broken! :tongue_sm
Yep it's a 1914 alright. It's my favorite of the "more aggressive SEs" Give it a few more goes and I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. As far as aggression I think it is just a step above the 1912 if you think of the 1912 as an OLD type the 14 is like a Fatip Piccolo.

Head neck and cheek line shave

Ever Ready 1914
Gem Stainless (4)
Vintage Made Rite pure badger
Arko (trying to get that badger smell out of the brush :tongue_sm)
Avon Spicy

Great shave with the Little Lather Catcher!

OCtober 25 - Shave 25

Gold Ball End Old Type NDC
Polsilver SI(1)
Stirling Unscented Pre-Shave Soap
Semogue 1250
Dapper Dragon Signature Soap
Witch Hazel and Heavy Aloe Blend
CFG Ghost Town Barber AS

Pulled my second Ball End Old Type from the bench and gave it a whirl. A previous owner fixed the splitting handle and added weight to it. I sure can see why so many old types were sold!

I have started blending my own Witch Hazel and Aloe mixtures. I guess I will need menthol crystals next!

Have great shaves everyone!

Hi,

But, I am not going to shave with it in OCtober. It would take me forever and I'd feel pretty silly trying. Plus, who knows what might have snuck onto those carbon steel blades packed away in an old suitcase in that old storage shed I found it in.....

Y'all like pics, but things are not quite what they seem in my last post....
