Seems like Feather borrowed from others. Is this razor a direct copy of a Gillette model?

No, I don't believe so. The Gillette Old Type was around some time before Feather started. Feathers seemed to use the 3 hole base plate long after Gillette switched to the stabilizer bar. The Feather portable is similar to the Gillette Tech but is more aggressive.
"I don't own this razor..." You mean - "Yet..." You don't see many Feather open combs & when you do - they seem pricey.

I already have one, but not this model.
You have a feather open comb model? How's the shave and what other razors would you compare the shave to? There's a seller on ebay out of Japan who lists a number of vintage models. Somewhere on the internet, I think there is a Feather museum page.
