Saturday SOTD ::::: July 23, 2016

Prep: Hot shower w/Anthony Logistics Facial Scrub
Pre-Shave Oil: Adam Stump Original
Soap: K Shave Worx Word to Ya Mutha
Brush: K Shave Worx custom game changer synthetic 24mm
Razor: Merkur 34C
Blade: Feather (2)
Post Splash: Thayers Lemon Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Clubman Pinaud Jeris Osage Rub

This was another fine shave to prepare for a hot day. The K Shave Worx brush easily turned the pressed slivers of the vanilla and "ice" KSW soap into a creamy, yogurty firm peakiness that both protected the face and provided a comfortable glide for the cutting edges. The Feather whisked away stubble with no damage and left smooth BBS cheeks and neck. The Merkur is one of my favorite razors. The soap was fragrant and the "ice" was pleasantly noticeable throughout the shave -- really nice after the hot shower. I'd never used the Osage Rub before and found it complemented the soap very well. The menthol would have lingered a bit more but I had to journey outside soon after the shave. It was nice while it lasted.

My Very First Mastro Livi More Than Three Years Later
Three years later. More than three years later, to be precise. Today's shave has been done with my very first Mastro Livi straight razor, the one which started my passion for the job, art and talent of this great Italian craftsman and Master. This razor changed forever the way I shave and I see shaving. It made me discover the excellence of shaving and how a real razor should shave, it gave me a new light and vision about shaving and straight razors. In a moment it made me almost forget the rest of my beloved collection - today counting 268 straight razors - because of its superb quality, something so far from every other razor I have ever used in my life. And the good news is this razor shaves like the first day: in more than three years I have never honed or refreshed its edge on pastes, it still has a super cutting edge and shaves like a feather caressing my skin giving a very close and very smooth shave. Simply amazing.

I'll be testing out a brush I finished restoring yesterday. It's an Ever Ready 925 with a 20mm high mountain badger knot set at 48mm.
