Acevivi Safety Razor

Saw this advertised online. Interesting dual comb head. Apparently the head is coated plastic (at least no zamak rot) and it's a mild shaver. Anyone here heard of or used it?

I'll post a review when it gets delivered, I ordered one on eBay the other day.
I was looking for a scalloped safety bar head to replace the one that bounced when I dropped it recently, the threads got damaged and there's only one handle that I can use it with, but it's likely to give up the ghost in the very near future.
I liked the look of the dual comb head and for the sake of less than €9 with free delivery between China and Spain I pulled the trigger - it was cheaper than buying a replacement head !!

I think the head will look super cool on my Windrose D-9 Chunky handle, I'm planning on using the open comb for WTG & XTG, and the scalloped safety bar for ATG & Buffing.
The handle looks a bit cheap and jerry built, so I'll probably just hoard it, but on the other hand, if it turns out to be fairly solid and heavy, I'll either use it for my Rapira Platinum Lux razor or my unbranded Chinese tech-style razor.
Imagine this handle with the dual comb head..........

I got the 'chrome plated plastic head' info from an Amazon review, but whatever it's made of isn't that important. Looking forward to your review.

Interesting find! I like to hear about cheap razors. But I don't like the look of the handle, and it is also a bit oversized for my taste.
And the cheapest razors come with really tiny cheap looking handles. I don't see why they can't make a really cool mid sized handle for the same money. The Rimei handle would look cool if it were just a little bit shorter.
This head looks interesting. The baseplate looks a bit like one that can be flipped upside down for more or less agression. But I don't think that's the idea. The guy in the photo uses it upside down, and it does not look like it would shave anyhing if he had a blade in it.
Curious to hear what it's made of!

Mine arrived this morning in a plastic bubble envelope- 17 days for delivery from China to Spain isn't bad going.
The eBay seller is much faster than most of the Chinese sellers I've done business with in the past.

The razor itself feels solid and sturdy enough, and as far as Chinese razors go, it seems fairly well made.
The head looks and feels like Zamak, but I was fully expecting it to be. The fit and finish are smooth enough, with a minimal amount of blade play. The Acevivi logo is laser etched, but it looks a bit fuzzy, although that's no big deal.

The male threads are the same size as the female ones on my handles, but the head not only looks mis-matched on all of my handles, but it also feels unbalanced too.
The handle feels more solid than it looks, the female threads are definitely the right colour for brass when I looked at them closely.
I tried the handle on some of my other heads, but it not only looks better with the original Acevivi head, it looks cool with the original Acevivi head, so I'll be using the razor as is - the way I see it why try to fix something that isn't broken !!

The Acevivi blades come in plain wax paper and are completely naked (see photo #5), it says Super Stainless on the tuck, so they could be anything !!
As stated in one of the reviews on Amazon, they are very thin, lightweight and flimsy/flexible. The metal almost feels like the aluminium that they use for beer cans !!
Photo #4 shows the razor loaded with one of the blades.

It says Distributed by 15650 Saltlake Ave, City Of Industry, CA 91745 on the tuck, but when I googled it, it came up blank, so presumably it could just be Acevivi's depot in the USA
www.acevivi.com is a Chinese based company.

I've read some positive reviews on Amazon, and one negative one about the head being chrome plated plastic.
The fact that the head on mine appears to be chrome plated Zamak, it's quite likely that Acevivi have learned from their past mistakes.
I'll post a test-drive review when I shave with it tomorrow evening - I'll even risk using the generic blade too !!
Meanwhile, some eye candy ............

Anyone else see a resemblance in the base-plate of the Acevivi and the Fendrihan all-stainless razor (ignoring the studs in the top cap)? OP, if you could, please let us know which side seems more aggressive. Also, can that base plate be flipped (ala Rockwell) and used as well?

The only resemblance i see is the fact they are both dual comb, other than that they look different to me. Although it is hard to tell with the fuzzy pictures.
