Tool for corking a blade

Gentlemen: I recently adapted an old liquor bottle cap with a cork for use in smoothing my blade out after shaving each day. I hold the bottle cap in my left hand, and pull the blade through the cork plug with my right hand. I like this because I am not holding the cork itself and risking cuts from an accidental slippage of either the blade, or the cork.

Very interesting. However, if you need to cork your DE blades, then you might need to try some better blades, in my opinion. A good DE blade should be sharp, yet smooth.
Have fun. :001_smile

Actually, corking as a concept, isn't best done with an actual cork. Corks are too hard and will dull your blade. Corking is just meant to de-burr the edge, and shouldn't be an aggressive action. If you want to cork your blades you'd be better off using a piece of Styrofoam.
