What's new

Perfected my Margarita recipe

I call it the Anna-rita (named after my friend Anna)
The fresh citrus makes it pop.

3/4 teaspoon sugar (give or take)
1/2 fresh Lime
1/2 fresh Lemon (squeeze 'em both dry)
light squeeze of 1/2 fresh Orange
1 shot of Triple Sec
1 shot of Tequila (a heavy pour will help)

Shaken over 5 ice cubes

Pour and relax. Goes well with fajitas.

Sounds like an interesting cocktail.

My recipe is the classic 3-2-1.

3 parts tequila (I prefer blanco/silver)
2 parts triple sec
1 part fresh lime juice

Shake with ice. Pour over rocks. Drink. Repeat.

Salud!

Here's a recipe that I like:

2 oz. Tequila
1 oz. lime juice
1/2-3/4 oz. Agave Nectar, depending on how sweet you like it.

Shake, strain, and serve.

Simple and wonderful.

Worst recipe ever! Sugar and lemon :thumbdown

My wife will add a little xtabentun instead of agave nectar for sweetness.

sub in Cointreau or Grand Mariner for the triple sec, and maybe drop the sugar.

I thought about the Cointreau but I was looking for something that didn't require the added expense of that particular bottle. The fresh orange does nicely.

Mine is pretty fine tuned for my taste:

3oz Anejo (preferably Don Julio)
.75oz Patron Lime
2 lime wedges squeezed.
Shake
Pour over rocks
Enjoy....

Mine makes a pitcher, and it's pretty stout

1 can Sprite

1 can frozen limeade

1 can beer

1 can water (use one of the above cans as measurement)

1/2 bottle Cuervo (really just pour to taste)

Three ingredients for me:
Tequila
Cointreau or Patron Citronge
Fresh lime juice
1.5:1:1
My wife likes to add a little St. Germain for added sweetness.
If it's been a long week, I am not opposed to the 3:2:1 recipe!

I believe the IBA standard ratio is 7:4:3. I stay close to that. Divide by two if you're a lightweight. Always fresh ingredients and always Cointreau. I've tried many different brands of triple sec, orange brandies etc. and found I always returned to Cointreau for mixing. Why? Because it works well for everything.

3:2:1 worked well. I also ended up tossing in 1 part lemon, 1 part pom juice, 1 part orange juice. Gives them a nice red colour and they come out a bit less sour. Had to please the ladies after round 1 was dubbed to be too sour.

There is nothing like Cointreau. It's simply the best. What's that old saying? "You get what you pay for."

Great. Now I'm craving a Margarita. Guess I'll experiment tonight.
I hope your lab work was successful!!
