Default Bors, I'm a very proud dad

Those of you who read my "Can I trust her" thread, will be aware that my 11 year old son was having cricket trials for Staffordshire whilst his mum was watching his elder brother playing football in Italy.

Young 'un's performances went like this

Tuesday: Scored 45 runs, helping his district side recover from 26-3 to 123-5

Thursday: Bowled five overs for four runs

Sunday: Bowled four overs, took 3 wickets

I was pleased for him but still had to wait for the verdict from the County Team Manager. Got a phone call from the manager last night and he asked to speak to our young 'un.

    All I could here was

    "Yes"

    "Yes"

    "Thank you"

    "Goodbye"

    He was in

Twenty minutes later I rang his mate's dad (The one who had the other tub of Proraso from Italy)

His mate had also been selected

Two county players with wet shaving dads who like malt whisky and cask beer, is about as good as it gets

    You're very kind

I notice that you're from Warrington

He's due to play against Cheshire in Warrington at the end of July.

Awesome, congratulations! I am a bit of an anglophile, and've always wanted to see a game -- probably will, someday.
