Does anyone have any experience honing on a Greek natural stone, like Vermio; or a Cretan natural stone? Just curious - I had not heard of them until recently.

I have a lovely Cretan stone that I use for coarse work like resetting a bevel. Works fast and leaves a good bevel ready for finishing with a coti.
I have one - rather rough stone for my purposes - I have yet to play with it fully because of my initial bevel set.
Had two Cretans. Sold both. To me, they were useless.
I have seen these on a few sites but I think I will stick with what I have, they are priced ok but if they honestly can't be used to finish on i can't use one.
I have a Cretan and like it. Loaded with milk-fat, and used with oil, the feel is very much like a translucent Arkansas, but it is a bit more aggressive. A mid-range stone, to be followed by a finisher.
