My first real attempt at wood scales

A year ago I slapped together some soft pine scales just as a mock-up/trial run. It went well, so I finally got around to making some out of Cherry. Wanted it to be real soft, not too glossy....My pics aren't the greatest.

Peening and pinning wasn't that bad. My washers are so small you really can't see them after the peening.

That is nice. I love the richness of that cherry. I suspect there was some stain involved. Did you use some?

Thanks man.....No. I started out with Linseed oil, but then put several cotes of tongue oil to finish....No stain.

It has a soft feel to it, and that's what I was going for.
