Question Rooney Heritage ... stubby vs. beehive??

Okay, I have a Rooney beehive, and really like it.

I'm thinking about adding a Rooney heritage "stubby", presumably the small one, to my lineup, and am wondering if anyone out there has both, and can comment on how similar or different the two brushes are.

I don't really want to buy a clone of the brush I already have, you see ...

    Many thanks!

I've got a cat named Beefeater and a dog named Beefeater, and two goldfish called Beefeater and Beefeater. There's Beefeater my hamster and Beefeater my horse, and my piglet, known as Beefeater of course.

My understanding is that Heritage knots in the same size (e.g., small) should have nearly identical performance. The lofts do seem to be about the same.

    Regards.

Is the beehive a stiff-ish brush that would be good for soaps and creams?

I use my beehive strictly for soaps...I've never used creams. The bristles have plenty of backbone yet the tips are soft on the face. In considering another Rooney, I would suggest a finest as opposed to a stubby

The beehive is great for soaps, in the manner described. I've used it for face-lathering creams too, with fine results. (For me, the main reason I distinguish brushes for soaps vs. creams is how well they will scour the soap off the cake.)

I just picked up a Rooney 3/1 in Super and I bought it for soaps. This thing is fantastic...It's got good backbone but still a nice soft touch on the face and boy, this thing whips up a lather in a bowl like you would not believe. Today I went straight to my face and the lather was right there and my beard stood up nicely as I worked them.
This brush works like a dream to me...
    My two cents ...

I have the Stubby 3 with a large knot and the exceptional backbone of the Heritage super silvertips. I use it to lather on my face with creams, and I think the backbone will easily stand up to soaps.

Whay don't you get this bigger Stub? It's different enough from the Beehive that you'll have two different excellent brushes of the Heritage line.
