Not a good shave today, razor needs a good honing, got the lather too thick and sticky, thus the need for a balm afterwards. Too stubborn to change when I felt it was not going good.

I find myself there too sometimes - figure I will just push on through a shave that's not working - and ALWAYS regret it...razor burn, or a cut, or just even a crap start to the day. I have been trying to recognize when it snot working, and stop and shift gear to something different. I see it as part of the 'zen' of shaving for me.
