I went with the Crystal Lake and it's doing the trick. I like that I can reshape it and there's no crunch, just a little wax buildup. The next day the buildup is gone and I can still get some hold, but my hair feels nice and soft.
Top is at about 2 inches right now, so I'm going to mess with a few styles with this stuff before my next cut.
Are you still happy with the Crystal Lake? How is the shine? I like some, but not too much. I finished off my jar of American Gardens and went back to using American Crew Forming Cream that I had on hand. Going back to this is making me realize that I like the American Gardens a lot more. The Crew Forming Cream gets a lot crunchier and in order to get decent hold I have to keep my hair pretty wet and then I wind up with larger clumps stuck together.
I may have to try a couple more clays/fibers. Thinking about the Layrite Matte Clay next. Any experience with this, or others like these?
