Default FT - Merkur Classic razor (not HD)

Used for several months, about 50% of my rotation, this was my favourite razor, until I met it's long tall cousin (the LHC).

Includes plastic jewel box type case, and (waterspotted) box.

As a (more) naive newb, I paid 50 dollars for this at a B&M store, but hey, it was STILL worth it.

(New at Lee's $26 plus shipping. Not sure if his includes the case.)

Would prefer some Castle Forbes Lime shave cream (obviously not a full jar), QED Lime shave soap, or some imaginative offer.

(Will sell this as a last resort only, so no price posted at this time. Hope that satisfies the rules. If not, I want 80 dollars for it)

Maybe you've never shaved with one of these, in your initial rush to get a Fat Boy or Futur. If so, you're missing a lot. Fix that. Now. You know you want to.

The Merkur Classic is, IMHO, one of the best razors out there - my go-to razor.

It is a great razor, and I have never found it with a plastic case - mine came in just the cardboard box - so this is a nice addition if somebody is considering it. I've said it before, I love the low profile heads of these 2- and 3-piece razors over the TTO - so much easier to maneuver into tight spaces, like right under your nose.

Not all the TTO heads are that tall. The Slim and Super Adjustable have reasonably low heads. I use the HD Merkur frequently in my rotation, I figure the Classic is pretty similar.

I was very surprised that (on my face) the HD shaves considerably rougher than the Classic. (I'm still keeping the long-handled version for that reason.)

I think it's a little weird that we tell new DE shavers not to use too much pressure, and yet, when we have a chance to recommend a razor, we push the heavier HD over the Classic. Doesn't weight=pressure?

No love. Closing this offer. I'll post it for sale.
