What's new

Just completed first DE shave - woke up with with whiteheads?

I can recommend Shea Moisture Tea Tree After Shave & Bump Preventer. You may be able to find it in your local grocery store. It's an excellent astringent.

I have used this in the past and it does seem to work on ingrown hairs and other bumps a good bit. I was able to pick mine up at Target.

Exfoliation is going to bring sebum up to the surface. This is normal and a good thing. Wash your face, use witch hazel toner, don't rub your face with dirty hands.

If they are really white looking, you can lance/extract them (CLEAN STERILE HANDS or comedone extractor).

I'm not a dermatologist either, but maybe it could be a sure 'sign' of either or and;

1. Shaving ATG (I've deleted this 3rd pass and the few white heads I do get have mostly disappeared...and I still get a CCS).

2. Going over the same area with many 'strokes'.

3. Too much 'buffing / touch-ups'.

4. 'Tweeking' your technique may be of help.
