Penn and Teller

Saw Penn and Teller this weekend. I guess they're doing a national tour or something. The show was fantastic! Great tricks, very funny, lots of audience interaction, and extremely entertaining! Plus, they hung out in the lobby afterwards (for a long time) to take pictures with everyone who wanted one.

Sounds like fun. The best part of that picture is your son's ( I presume) Rush shirt, though! That kid's got some class going on....

My wife and kid saw them on Broadway this past summer. The missus, ever respectful of dad's hard earned dough, was only able to get separate single seats from the ticket booth. My daughter sat on an aisle seat, pretty close to the stage, and there was a jacket reserving the seat next to her. When no one sat there, she thought she would be able to bring her mom over there. Didn't quite pan out that way. An old man sat next to her and spoke to her for quite some time. When the show started, Penn asked for a volunteer from the audience. The old man raised his hand and was selected. It was Teller in disguise. They invited her back stage after the show and she took about 100 photos. Here are two shots, taken later by mom, of the stars with the future dictator of Earth.

Ouch, I think my daughter has that dictator position reserved. At least I am pretty sure she does. She lets me know such things only at her leisure.

I saw them back in the mid 90s when they were doing a lot of stuff with fake blood. When they hung out in the lobby afterwards they were covered in fake blood and they got some on everything the autographed! I thought it was hilarious.

My ex told an amusing story about how one of those two (I can't remember which one) tried to pick her up in a casino by doing magic tricks.

Sounds like fun and I didn't know that they were so engaging with their fans. That's refreshing in these days of remote, aloof entertainers and sports figures.

That is a Rush shirt. My boys have excellent taste in music! Penn has lost a lot of weight and actually looked kind of haggard. But I truly commend them for the time and effort they put in for their fans.
