Aero Leather

I have a friend who swears by it.

I went to order a jacket a couple of years back and was told that the wait at that time was almost 6 months... so instead of getting the jacket in the early part of winter, I would have had it for the start of summer. Maybe I will try again one day.

Take a look here for another Scottish leather jacket company. Quality almost the same as Aero but cheaper and faster. They will also make a lot of adjustments or alterations to the patterns. I have a Drifter!

I have never seen one like this before.

The Aero and the Simmons both have some beauties. A lot of the Aeros specifically said that they were made of cordovan - I didn't see much on the leathers on Simmons site.

I think Cordovan, as used on the Aero site is the colour, as they are Front Quarter Horsehide. SimmonsBilt do use Horween FQHH. Here's their leathers page.

I don't work for them by the way! The commute from Gloucester to Scotland is too much! Just a satisfied customer, still trying to break in the bullet proof Chromexcel Steerhide Drifter jacket I bought a year ago!

I just scored an Aero jacket on ebay! Better than new for a discount and no waiting around to have it made. Got super lucky and found my favorite style in my size.

So have I gone off the deep end? I just ordered these Frye Engineer Boots off of ebay. They are like $400 on zappos. I can't see paying that much so I made an offer on ebay for a lightly worn pair for just over $100. I needed some more black shoes to go with my new jacket. Does anyone else have engineer boots in their wardrobe???? Ha ha and no I don't have a motor cycle!!

I can't say enough good things about Aero (Scotland).

They scream quality, and attention to detail. And, they are period specific - so you can chose styles from the 1920's, 30's, 40's and 50's. Yet, all are fashion forward...and timeless at the same time.

I have a Dustbowl, in black goatskin, with olive drab stitching:

And a Teamster, in Front Quarter Chromexcel Horsehide (FQHH):

If you're in the states, you can order Aero through Thurston Bros in Seattle. They send out a "fit" jacket, first, to make sure you are OK with sizing...
