A couple of really nice samples Taylors lathers up rich and creamy and Floid has a great smell! both get 4/5 stars!
SOTD
Sneaky the E2 Fatboyon 4 (WTG only today)
Gillette Nacet (12, Feb one-blade challenge) Omega 10066 CFG Easy Street Witch hazel w/menthol added Lucky Tiger Stirling Lime ASB Dominica Bay Rum AS
Day 12 head shave 12
G-3 Fatboy wide open Gillette Silver Blue (12)
Omega S
WSP Black Amber Vanille
This was my first time with this soap and I'm really like it. I found a local barber shop that stocks a nice selection of WSP products. I'm definitely going to have to try more of there stuff.
This is my second Fatboy acquisition. I just PIF'd one, and had another and picked up this one. Its actually as close to unused as I have ever seen a vintage razor. Shaves like a DREAM!
Feb. 12 12th shave.
The Gift on 5
Col. Conk's Almond soap using a Col. Conk's scuttle, a Valentines gift from the wiffe.
Feather blade.
Mystery badger brush.
Aqua Velva blue ice AS
For Today's shave I've dialed The Virgin back to 5, using the Feather same blade again.
Two pass shave resulting in DFS above the jaw, only SAS below.
My neck is a bit red from the repeated attempts to get a good shave on dial 7, shaving today didn't help.
TOBS Bay Rum stung when I put it on the neck, redness has mostly gone now 20 minutes later though.
I could probably get one more shave from the feather, but next shave will be the permasharps. I only have 3 left so I'll order some more along with some Astras (only 1 left) and the BIC blades which I like as well.
Today’s shave following hot shower:
Soap Works hemp oil pre-shave soap
Gillette 1960 F-1 Fatboy, set on 5
Astra superior platinum
Yardley soap
Boar Brush
Aqua Velva Musk aftershave
The Legendary Katrina Razor
D R Harris Lavender
Rooney 3/1
Lilac Vegetal
The D R Harris works great but I can't 3017 it because I get tired of the scent. I bought the Rooney to see what all the fuss was about. It turns out it was much ado about nothing because it's one of the worst brushes I have. Weak and floppy and doesn't hold enough soap for even one pass. The Lilac Vegetal on the other hand still reminds me of my first haircut. The barber used to sprinkle it on me when I was a boy and I have been dousing myself with it ever since. The razor, of course, is a Fatboy and we all hold them in high regard.
Day 13 SOTD:
E-3 Fat Boy set on 5
Personna Med Prep blade
Maggards 24mm synthetic knot set into a custom handle (strangest looking handle I own)
Gaelic Tweed Rustic Shaving Soap
Homemade aftershave using a Wild West fragrance oil
Sorry I haven't been on in a few days. Daughter had 106 fever Thursday night. Her and my wife both have the flu and my son has a respiratory virus. He and I are at my in laws. If I get a chance to shave tonight, you'll notice something odd for this thread.
G3 Fatboy on setting #5
GSB on shave #4
Cremo preshave
VDH mongrel (deluxe and luxury)
Razorock Plissoft
3 passes, WTG, XTG, ATG
Pinaud Clubman Aftershave
Nivea Sensitive Skin Balm
Bbs above the jaw and Dfs below the jaw. Good shave! I'm liking this Fatboy more and more each shave!
Shave #8
Fatboy on 3 gave me a DFS with a new Rapira blade.
Windsor AS and TOBS Eton College shave creme, a great combination!
Shave#9
Samples today are Cella shave creme and GEO F. Trumper's Spanish leather AS
My wife got me the Cella for an early valentine's day gift. I like the smell but the lather is a little less rich then some of the other creme's I been sampling 3.5/5 stars. Still a solid performer.
The Spanish Leather AS has a very nice smell 4.5/5 stars, a keeper.
Well I guess in the absence of a fatboy, I'll wait for "Slim September " if that's a thing. Maybe I'll have a re plate done before then. Nice razors everyone.
