Default My Return to DE Safety Razors

    Hello,

I'm old enough to have owned many of the Gillette DE razor models. I remember having a Super Speed in the 60's and several adjustables during the years following. I don't recall shaving with them being a very pleasurable experience though.

Recently I dug out a boar bristle shaving brush I had and after reading some of these shaving boards, learned to make lather with it. Right away I started getting better shaves with my Fusion, and to make a long story short, I now have about seven different Giillette's on the way from eBay. (I plan on deciding which ones I like, and I can trade or sell the rest).

Looks like I'm hooked, I can't wait to get a decent brush (or three), and start sampling some of the different soaps and creams.

    ta for now,
    Rick

Rick. Welcome to B&B and welcome back to the wonderful world of DE shaving.
Seven on the way, your a man after my own heart, but why stop at seven or trade them off? It's nice to rotate. You mentioned three brushes. There's a rule that you have to have at least 5 razors for every brush....

But really, welcome back....Enjoy the shave!!!
This picture should help you get started. Of course this was when I had only two brushes...

Welcome Rick. That might be a record. You developed Razor Acquisition Disorder before your first post. Congratulations!

Welcome to the B&B community Rick, and welcome back to DE shaving!

Make sure to try some different blades too, they can make a big difference in the quality and comfort of your shave. Most folks who come here try the West Coast blades Sampler packs - an inexpenive way to find out which blades work best for you...
