Thanks Bruce...glad you're not American prejudiced.

And here, all this time, I thought this whole continent was the Americas...North America, Central America, South America. :biggrin1:

Mike, that burger looks great.

It rained here all last night and quit early this morning leaving my pit area like a pig pen. Planning pork butt and ribs on the smoker early tomorrow morning and grillin' some Nathan's hot dogs later in the afternoon....weather permitting.

Looks like we just beat the weather...pouring down rain now and lightning and thundering like....

Lost the internet for awhile. :scared:

Oh what a shame.

Fridays are Fishtastic!
simon1- I often do that. Cook up a bunch of burgers, dogs, and hot links for several days. I only put cheese on the burgers I am going to eat that day.

Got up at 5AM to go out and light the smoker. I was met by a big surprise.....rain, and lots of it :mad3:

Unacceptably Lasering Chicken Giblets?
No smoking today for me.
Working 16 hours this Memorial Day.
But, when I get home tonight I will get to see pictures of some wonderful BBQ!!

Yesterday, ribs with Memphis dust and Kansas City BBQ sauce! Those were the best this season!

Fussy Evil Genius
Here's what I'm starting the day with:

$BBQ 5-30.jpg

The bottom shelf has a couple of 14# briskets, along with the chunks I cut off to show me the right angle to the grain. I like to call those chunks "lunch." The top shelf holds the two points left over from my last brisket cook. They'll be chopped beef or burnt ends by the end of the day. Sausage and boudin will go on closer to lunch.

I also have a beef tongue that might go in that spot to the left of the points. Stay tuned. :w00t:

Tonight it's deer burgers. Homemade bun (as usual)

I hope to not get banned from this sub-forum.. I will be making steak for dinner tonight on a weber grill (gas).... But once the house gets done and I can start working on my outdoor kitchen I will be using my antique wood kitchen stove (a Monarch), a smoker and probably a pellet grill. Wife says I can't spend any money until the house is finished so I will be making due with what I have and watching the bbq porn here.

Welcome to the Mess Hall Ruckin. Like you I would love to have outdoor pavilion type setup that's covered, maybe a misting fan and most important, a concrete slap for my smoker and grill.

Hey Aaron...why don't you move your smoker a bit closer to the house, and run down to Academy or somewhere and get an E-Z Up . Or string up a tarp.

If I tried to pull that dude across to my lawn grass it would look like a tractor pull. It's now nice and sunny....pit won't come to temp though. I think it was a little wet on the bottom of the smoke chamber. Wood was a little wet but I've added some dry too.

An outdoor kitchen is in my future. The house is paid off next year, but I will have to replace the HVAC before I start going crazy.

Just a teaser- made some homemade Cole slaw to go with the rib eyes I am doing shortly. Also got some Earl Campbell hot links because Chris sent me some of his Crazy Kiwi habanero mustard, and some sausage because the wife wanted it.
